DataNEX
Server Monitoring System

Overview
DataNEX operates a global network of 50 data centers, providing critical infrastructure services. Facilities are distributed across different regions, with each site running local systems to collect, manage, and analyze real-time data.
The Challenge
Following recurring technical failures that caused significant server downtime, DataNEX decided to overhaul its monitoring platform to directly address these operational challenges
Key Pain Points
Managers lack a complete picture of operations
High Latency: Critical reports arrive late
Urgent failures are invisible without live data
Cannot compare data across isolated systems
Research
Data Flow
Mapping the data ecosystem to visualize the complex information flow and identify critical bottlenecks in the pipeline.

User Personas
critical roles whose contrasting needs drive the platform’s design.

Screens - Site Manager
Site Operations Dashboard
Interface designed for the server floor. The card-based grid replaces manual lookups with a high-contrast "Red/Green" system. Critical faults automatically prioritize themselves, allowing the manager to immediately locate the specific physical rack requiring maintenance.
Rack Inspection View
Maps specific Unit slots to device serial numbers, enabling technicians to identify the exact physical location before on-site intervention.

Screens - Regional Analyst
Regional Analytics Dashboard
A unified interface designed for the Regional Analyst oversight across dispersed locations.

Site Comparison Flow
Site Selection
Enables the Regional Analyst to define specific comparison criteria. Selecting up to three distinct sites and filtering for relevant metrics

Comparative Analysis Results
Side-by-Side Performance View
Visualizes selected data in a standardized layout for rapid scanning.
